Interstate Highway 20 and a railroad right-of-way that parallel each other create the east-west, linear feature that extends across the photograph. Pecos (not discernible) lies west of the of the highway-railroad intersection with the Pecos River (center of photograph). Apparent are Lake Toyah, a highly reflective dry lake south of Pecos, and rectangular irrigated fields to the west. Concentrated, uniformly spaced white dots east of the Pecos River show producing oil and gas fields between Pecos and Monahans, which lies northeast.
